UHV’s Boonsrirat, Bickelmann sweep RRAC Golfer of the Week honors
WACO – For the second straight week, UHV golf has swept the Red River Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week awards.
On Tuesday, the RRAC announced the Jaguars' Lucky Boonsrirat and Emmily Bickelmann won the second awards of the season. It's the second sweep this season for UHV after Bickelman and Nathan Biais swept the awards last week.
"I'm happy both Lucky and Emmily were recognized this week," said head coach Garrett Adair. "Lucky has put in a lot of work since he got here in the fall and it's paying off. Emmily has been consistently fighting for Top 10 finishes thanks to her work this year, as well. I'm excited to see how they continue to build on their performances throughout the rest of the season."
Bickelmann finished in a tie for fifth place in the weather-shortened Schreiner Shoot-Out at The Club at Comanche Trace in Kerrville.
The senior from Weisbaden, Germany, shot a 77 to claim her third Top 5 finish this year and fourth finish in the Top 10.
"I'm grateful to receive this award in back-to-back weeks," Bickelmann said. "It shows we're heading in the right direction. I hope we can build on the momentum and make it to nationals."
Boonsrirat finished in a tie for 14th at Schreiner last week, carding a two-over 74 and sharing the finish with his teammate Biais.
The junior from New Braunfels tied his best finish to-par at two-over, matching his performance from the UHV Fall Classic where he carded an opening-round 69 at The Club at Colony Creek.
"I'm honored to have won this award," Boonsrirat said. "I'm looking forward to the rest of the season as I continue to put in the work and hopefully the results follow soon."
The UHV women's golf team will head to the Tabor College Early Spring Classic at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield March 17-18.
The men's next tournament is The Battle at Laughlin Ranch in Bullhead City, Arizona, March 24-25.
