Women’s golf has 3 named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three UHV women's golfers were recently named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Evelyn Nguyen, a junior from Pearland; Kaitlin Lopez, a sophomore from San Antonio; and Laney Glass, a sophomore from Victoria, were the Jaguars' three representatives on the list of 400 student-athletes from 124 different schools across the United States and Canada.
The Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete program recognizes student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. To be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.
"I'm extremely proud of these three ladies," said head coach Garrett Adair. "They work hard on and off the course, and this proves their dedication to their studies. All three deserve this recognition."
