A&M-Victoria softball's postseason run ends in RRAC Tournament
PINEVILLE, La. – The Texas A&M University-Victoria softball team saw its postseason run come to an end Sunday afternoon, falling 6–5 to Texas A&M–Texarkana in an elimination game of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament at Wildcat Park in Pineville, Louisiana.
The Jaguars jumped out early and battled back multiple times, but the Eagles delivered the decisive blow in the bottom of the seventh to secure the walk-off win. A&M-Victoria finished the game with 10 hits and forced six Texas A&M–Texarkana errors, but could not close things out late.
After scoring twice in the top of the first inning, A&M-Victoria surrendered four runs in the bottom half and spent the rest of the contest chipping away. The Jaguars briefly took their first lead since the opening frame in the fifth, only to see the Eagles answer again before ending the game in the final inning.

A&M-Victoria struck first in the opening inning as Alyssa Carter came around to score on a throwing error, followed by an RBI single from Angelina Morales to make it 2–0. Texas A&M–Texarkana responded immediately with four runs in the bottom of the first.
Trailing 4–2, the Jaguars pulled even in the fourth. Sianna Miller and Khamryn Werdlow each produced RBI groundouts to tie the game at 4–4. In the fifth inning, A&M-Victoria took a 5–4 lead when pinch runner Kelsey Perez stole third base and scored on another throwing error.
The advantage was short-lived as A&M-Texarkana scored in the bottom of the fifth to tie it once more. After both teams were held scoreless in the sixth, Texas A&M–Texarkana loaded pressure in the seventh. With two outs, the Eagles delivered the walk-off winner.
Top Performers
Alyssa Carter led A&M-Victoria offensively, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Fayth Hoover added two hits and scored twice, while Daizie Fuentez also went 2-for-3 with a run. Morales finished with two hits and an RBI.
In the circle, Madelyn Butler worked 6 1/3 innings in relief for the Jaguars, allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out two. Haley Noska started the game but was tagged with four early runs while recording the first out.
The Jaguars close the season 27-18 overall, marking the 18th straight full season with a winning record.
The loss closed the collegiate careers of Perez, Miller, Daizie Fuentez and Fayth Hoover.
