Armendarez, Simon make jump in Round 2 at RRAC Tournament
HOBBS, New Mexico – Ethan Armendarez and Florian Simon made the biggest jumps for the Texas A&M University-Victoria men's golf team on Tuesday.
Armendarez and Simon jumped five spots on the leaderboard after Round 2 of the Red River Athletic Conference at Rockwind Community Links. After that, the Jaguars sit in fourth place (320-322) heading into Wednesday's final round.
Lucky Boonsrirat (77-83—160) and Paul Chopin (80-80—160) are tied for 11th after the second round. Boonsrirat and Chopin each turned in a pair of birdies in their second round.
Brandon Gratton held his spot as T-14 after shooting 81-80—161 through 36 holes. Simon joined him by carding A&M-Victoria's lone round in the 70s, going 82-79—161 through two rounds.
Armendarez is 25th after the two rounds, going 85-83—168 after Tuesday's round.
The Jaguars will close out the tournament at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow with the final round.
