PINEVILLE, La. – The UHV baseball team was swept in a Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader against Louisiana Christian at Billy Allgood Field on Friday.
The Jaguars fell 1-0 and 3-0 on Friday, marking the first two times UHV (25-6, 14-3) has been shut out this season.
UHV managed only three hits in Game 1 with DeeAndre Torres, Terry Burrel III and Jean Michael Gonzales getting knocks.
Gonzalez had a pair of hits in Game 2, going 2-for-4, with Hal Perez and Jackson Purcell adding hits as the Jaguars scattered four hits in Game 2. Perez had a double.
Brady Parker and Jonathan Jones each suffered their first losses of the season despite each tossing complete games.
Parker threw six innings, allowing one run on seven hits while striking out eight. Jones went eight innings with six strikeouts, allowing three runs – two of which were earned.
The series concludes with a 12 p.m. first pitch on Saturday.
