UHV baseball recruiting class ranked by NAIA Ball, The JBB
NAIA Ball and The JUCO Baseball Blog ranked UHV baseball's junior college recruiting class No. 19 in the nation.
The Jaguars signed seven junior college transfers this offseason with Juan Martin (John Wood CC), Kaden Stutzman (Lassen College), Jeron Petterson (Galveston College), Drew Bradbury (Lassen College), Juan Perez (Lassen College) and Elijah Sherwin (National Park).
UHV is coming off a historic season in which the Jaguars won their first Red River Athletic Conference championship and tied the program record for postseason wins (6) after reaching the semifinals of the Hattiesburg bracket in the NAIA Opening Round.
"We're really excited about the upcoming season," said second-year head coach Jonathan Stavinoha. "We got some guys we feel are good fits for our program, especially with our junior college guys. We're excited to get practice going and hopefully build on what we accomplished last year."
The Jaguars (28-27 in 2023) were one of three RRAC teams in the rankings. LSU Shreveport topped the rankings while Texas A&M-Texarkana came in at No. 21.
