Six A&M-Victoria student-athletes named spring NAIA Scholar-Athletes
Recently, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its spring sport Scholar-Athletes.
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.
This year's list featured six members of the Texas A&M University-Victoria athletic department.
The Jaguars had five baseball players and one women's golfer recognized. The five honorees from baseball helped contribute to the highest number of scholar-athletes by sport at 1,333 across the nation.
