The University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) is an upper-level/graduate institution, serving students on campus, at off-campus centers, and online. It has three academic schools: Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, and Education and Human Development.

As an upper-level university, UHV only accepts students who have completed at least 30 semester credit hours at another college or university. If you are currently a high school student athlete, please keep this in mind as you make your higher education plans. If you are enrolling at a junior college please let us know of your progress as UHV may be among your choices when you get ready to transfer to a university and earn your degree.

Undergraduate students are eligible to transfer to UHV after completing a minimum of 54 semester credit hours of academic coursework (with at least a 2.0 GPA) at an accredited institution. If you are an undergraduate with less than 54 hours but more than 30 hours you may concurrently enroll at UHV and another institution. To be eligible to compete in athletics you must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, 9 of which must be at UHV and 3 at a junior college. The hours taken at a junior college must be recognized by UHV as for credit classes.

If you are currently playing college baseball or softball or are enrolled at a junior college and have a history of playing competitive baseball or softball (high school or higher) and are interested in transferring to UHV please fill out the appropriate questionnaire and we will get in touch with you.

If you have participated in 2 seasons of collegiate competition you must have passed 48 hours to be eligible to play UHV.

If you have participated in 3 seasons of collegiate competition you must have passed 72 hours to be eligible to play for UHV.

If you are a student transferring from an NCAA school or an NAIA school that is not in our conference to UHV you do not have to sit out a season but must meet residency requirements of 16 weeks prior to being eligible to compete.
